Airbnb x Vice Experiences
To generate interest in Airbnb’s Experiences product line, Airbnb x Vice Media came together to create 'one-of-a-kind experiences' in South Africa, France, United States and Japan.
100 lucky winners participated in one four different experiences available to be won including exploring Cape Town’s thriving electronic music scene, Paris’ historic red-light district, Harlem’s Ballroom Vogue scene and Tokyo’s underground LGBTQ spaces.
Master Trailer
The Airbnb x Vice partnership was developed to invite people to enjoy parts of cities and townships that were previously difficult to access and to encourage locals to share their interests with the curious.
Township Techno
Led by Spoek Mathambo and Yolanda Fyrus, Township Techno toured the Khayelitsha Township near Cape Town South Africa - flavors, sights and sounds unlike anywhere else in the world.
Belle of the Ball
Led by Kia LaBejia, a former Mother of the Royal House of LaBeija, winners toured Harlem’s underground Vogue spots and learned new vogue ballroom dance moves.
Lust In Translation
Led by Camille Emmanuel, an author and journalist who examines feminist sexuality in her writing, participants visited hotels that until recently were “love hotels”, a bakery making phallic baguettes, and learned how to perform Burlesque in an elegant old hotel setting.
Coming Out Tokyo
Led by Ian Daniel, of Gaycation, participants explored the world of Manga and hidden places of Tokyo’s LGBTQ neighborhood, Nichōme.
